Mr. Kweku Mensa-Bonsu


Mr. Kwaku Mensa-Bonsu is a communicator, advertising practitioner, educator and social entrepreneur. He studied at Wesley Grammar School and has a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Ghana.

He started work at Lintas as an assistant manager in 1979. He resigned in 1992 as Client Service Director. He has undertaken a number of Management Courses and attachments at other Lintas associate companies in West Africa and England. He set up Primetime Ltd and opened office in January 1993.  He was Managing Director from January 1993 to April 2013 when he retired as Managing Director and currently serves as Chairman of the Company. He has taught for years at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and at NAFTI. He has been lecturing part time in Advertising at the School of Communication Studies in Legon since 1979.

He has served on a number of boards. From 1994 to 1996, he served on the board of the Ghana Film Industry Corporation. From 2002 to 2004, he served on the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board. He served on the GBC Board from 2009 to 2011 and from 2006 till date, he has been member of the board of the Odotobri Rural Bank. He was a Council Member of the Advertising Association of Ghana from 1996 to 2010 and served as Chairman of its Professional Education Committee from 2005 to 2010.

Mr. Mensah Bonsu is very passionate about education and has served on the councils of a number of education institutions. From 1996 to 1999, he was the PTA Chairman for Wesley Girls High School and served as a member of the School Board. From 2002 till date, he has been a member of the board of Ave Maria School. From 2002 to 2010, he was the Chairman of the  University of Ghana Alumni Association and member of the University Council. He also served as a member of the Council  of the College of Health Sciences from 2006 to 2010. He has also been the chairman of the Jacobu Senior High School Board from 2012 to date.

He has served on the board of Action Aid Ghana from 2009 to date. He has been an active member of the International Association of Lions Club since 1993 and is a Melvin Jones Fellow of the Association. As a lion, he has served in various leadership roles such as Club President, Zone Chairman, Region Chairman including founding the Legon Lions Club in 2008. 
He is married to Prof. Henrietta Mensa-Bonsu of the University of Ghana. They have 3 biological daughters, 3 foster sons, 4 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, and are expecting 1 more grandchild this year. He enjoys music, playing tennis, and walking for exercise.
