Pre-Clinical Science
Core Courses
All core courses are compulsory.
FIRST YEAR (LEVEL 100)
SEMESTER ONE
First Year – Semester 1 Core Courses
SEMESTER TWO
This semester will continue with the liberal education started in Semester One. The compulsory courses will include Mathematics and Statistics in Medicine, The African and Scientific and Academic writing and Communication Skills and Heart Power. Other courses will include, Applied Chemistry and Physics, Human Biology.

Elective Courses
The Elective Courses are taken during the long inter-semester breaks between the end of one academic year and the next for a duration of four (4) weeks. The elective courses are in three groups and each student is expected to take at least one course from each group.
Group I: The Medical Humanities
- Singing
- Musical instruments
- Spirituality, Health and Healing
- Medicine and Literature
- Medicine and Developmental Economics
Group II: Modern Languages
- Spoken Medical French
- Spoken Ghanaian languages (for Ghanaians; the choice will be one that is not their mother tongue).
Group III: Community Service
- Each student or a group of students choose(s) a community to provide voluntary service that will uplift the community.
